A healthier dessert you’ll actually crave

If you’re anything like me, having a sweet treat almost daily is just part of life! And as a registered dietitian, I’m all about creating easy, healthier dessert recipes that taste so good you’d never guess they’re made with nourishing ingredients!

Similar to my 5-Minute Dairy Free Chocolate Mousse, this frozen yogurt bark packs a protein punch thanks to Greek yogurt, with 4 grams of protein AND 2 grams of fiber per serving. The chia seeds and raspberries bring the fiber, while the Greek yogurt creates the perfect creamy base.

And the best part? It’s topped with a drizzle of melted chocolate that hardens into the most delicious little chocolatey crunch! Think sweet, slightly tart raspberries meets creamy yogurt and rich chocolate in one ridiculously easy freezer-friendly treat.

Vanilla yogurt wins for this easy dessert

I tested this recipe with both plain and vanilla Greek yogurt, and while both work, I highly recommend using vanilla Greek yogurt! It gives the bark a sweeter, more dessert-like flavour that pairs perfectly with the tart raspberries and rich chocolate drizzle.

Plain Greek yogurt works too, but it creates a tangier, less sweet bark. If you prefer a sweeter treat, vanilla is definitely the way to go!

You can also use your favourite plant-based yogurt to make this recipe dairy-free. Just keep in mind that protein content varies by brand, and many plant-based yogurts contain less protein than Greek yogurt.

Testing notes for the perfect result!

Like I said, this is a dessert you’re gonna want to make weekly, so I’ve tested this recipe my fair amount of times! Here are some of my top tips for success:

  • This bark takes less than 10 minutes to prep, but an hour or two in the freezer to fully set. If you try to break it into pieces too early it won’t be the right consistency, so try to be patient!
  • I chose to use 2% Greek yogurt because a little extra fat makes this yogurt bark way tastier, but if you have a lower or higher fat on hand it’ll still work!
  • The chocolate drizzle is one of my favorite parts of this recipe! I tested out a version without
  • I used fresh raspberries in this recipe, but if frozen is all you have, that’ll work, too!
