Now, as a Registered Dietitian, you know I’m a major fan of delicious and easy tofu recipes, but I can’t deny that if you aren’t cooking it the right way it can turn out… pretty blah.
Luckily, I’ve tested this breaded tofu recipe to perfection to make sure that it’s so mouthwateringly delicious, you’ll have to hold yourself back from eating it every day, especially when you pair it with my Easy Sautéed Green Beans with Garlic!


Your Protein-Packed Weeknight Staple
With over 36 grams of plant-based protein per serving, I can’t lie, I’ve been testing out adding this healthy tofu recipe to well… Pretty much everything, and some of my favorites are paired with my tasty and EASY Honey Garlic Glazed Carrots that are also oven-baked, so you can make them both at the same time!
I’ve also tested out using the breaded tofu on top of my 20-Minute Lemon-Tahini Vegan Caesar Salad recipe and I can confidently say it totally takes it to the next level!
I tested this baked breaded tofu with both bread crumbs and panko, and honestly, they both turned out AMAZING. Use whichever you have on hand!

Crispy, Crunchy, Tofu-y Goodness Awaits
First, we dunk our tofu in a silky, flavorful batter, then give it a crunchy makeover by rolling it in herby, golden breadcrumbs.
The result? Crispy, irresistible bites that are ready to steal the show!







Healthy & Tasty Herby Breaded Tofu (Oven Baked!)
Ingredients
- 350 g block of extra firm tofu, * cut into 16 triangles, or cubed!
For the Batter
- 3 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, or 1 tsp dried
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsweetened soy milk, or other milk of your choice!
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
For the Breading
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
Equipment
- 1 large sheet pan
- 2 medium sized bowls
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450℉ and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Make the Batter
- In a medium sized bowl, whisk together the flour, garlic powder, dried oregano, basil, parsley and salt. Add the soy milk and soy sauce and whisk again until well combined.
Make the Breading
- In a separate medium sized bowl, whisk together all ingredients for the breading.
Coat the tofu!
- Add your tofu trianges into the batter and coat well on all sides. Using a slotted spoon, place the tofu triangles in the breading and toss until well coated.
- Place the coated tofu triangles on the baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes, flipping half way through, or until the tofu is lightly golden brown and crispy. Serve and enjoy!
