Sweet, savory and tangy, this easy Teriyaki Stir Fry Sauce takes less than 5-minutes to make as a homemade stir fry sauce since we use powdered garlic and ginger rather than chopping the fresh stuff! But don’t worry, this smooth, glossy sauce is still so flavorful and perfect for adding to my 30-Minute Teriyaki Tofu Stir Fry or as an easy teriyaki sauce marinade for any protein!

While I’m all for convenience, some things just taste better homemade, and this Teriyaki Stir-Fry Sauce is one of them.

As a Registered Dietitian, I’m always sharing tons of recipes that balance flavor, health and most importantly, EASE, because even if a dish is perfectly healthy and delicious, if we don’t have the time to make it, what’s the point?!

Enter this 5-minute Teriyaki Stir Fry Sauce. It’s made with powdered garlic and ginger so there’s absolutely no chopping required, which saves tons of time, especially if you’re looking for a quick weeknight sauce!

But don’t worry, there aren’t any flavor compromises here! It’s still packed with umami, slightly sweet, garlic and gingery flavor! I specifically developed this recipe for my 30-Minute Teriyaki Tofu Stir Fry, but honestly, it works in pretty much any healthy stir fry recipe!

Tried, Tested and True Easy Teriyaki Sauce!

I’ve tested this easy teriyaki sauce so many times, since I use it in so many recipes, like my Healthy 25-Minute Stir Fry with Sticky Teriyaki Tofu & Green Beans, and from testing I have some helpful notes to share!

I purposely developed this homemade stir fry sauce to use powdered garlic and ginger because I wanted to make it as easy as possible, but honestly, fresh tastes great too! If you’re using fresh, I’d recommend 2 cloves of fresh garlic and half a tablespoon of minced ginger.

Rice vinegar adds a delicious sourness to the sauce, but truthfully, we use so little in this easy sauce recipe that if you don’t have rice vinegar on hand, apple cider vinegar, white wine vinegar or even regular ol’ white vinegar will work in a pinch!

The best part about this Teriyaki Stir-Fry Sauce is how versatile it is! If you’re craving something a little different than your classic stir fry, my Healthy Teriyaki Chickpea Stir Fry comes together in less than 20-minutes since we use this easy sauce and canned chickpeas and is one of my favorite easy weeknight meals!

Let’s Whisk Up Some Sauce!

Keep in mind that while this sauce may look liquidy at first, it thickens up as it cooks, thanks to the cornstarch!
