Slightly spicy and sweet roasted fries come together in less than 30-minutes with just a few simple ingredients! We make an olive oil mixture with a handful of spices and maple syrup and coat each sweet potato fry before baking until perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. These pair beautifully with my 5-Minute Creamy Dipping Sauce and are bound to be your new favorite side dish!

Slightly spicy, a little sweet, and oh-so deliciously easy to make, what else could you ask for in a sweet potato fry?!
Oh, and did I mention that they’re the perfect texture of a little crispy on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside?
Seriously, I could eat these easy sweet potato fries for every single meal and never get tired of them.

How to Make These Sweet Potato Fries Spicy-Sweet
Now, what makes these sweet potato fries a little different, you ask?
We actually mix the ingredients for the topping, like the olive oil, maple syrup, and spices, so that we make sure each fry is perfectly coated with the spicy-sweetness.
AND, I use my famous 5-Minute Creamy Dipping Sauce as the perfect accompaniment. It’s totally optional, but HIGHLYYYY encouraged!
As a Registered Dietitian, you know I’m always looking for a little nutrition boost, which is why I chose to keep the skin on these sweet potato fries since it’s high in fiber and micronutrients!

Time to Round Up The Ingredients!
These roasted sweet potatoes come together with only a few ingredients that you probably already have on hand!
Sweet potato: Duh! These are the perfect base for our fries since they already have a slightly sweet flavor.
Olive oil: For perfectly crispy fries!
Maple syrup: For sweetness! If you don’t have maple syrup on hand, honey or brown sugar would also work!
Chili powder: For a little depth of flavor!
Cayenne pepper: For that SPICY flavor we’re looking for! I like cayenne pepper for these fries because it mixes so well with the other ingredients and coats the fries perfectly, but if you only have chili flakes on hand, that’ll work, too (it just might not be as spicy!).
Smoked paprika: For smokiness! Optional, but highly recommended.
Salt: Because salt makes everything taste better!
