Friends, do you ever find yourself staring at a sad salad, thinking “This could be SO much better”?!

I know I sure have.

Now, I’ve made plenty of delicious salads in my day, but the key is always a delicious salad dressing that makes you actually want to eat the vegetables. Like my Quick 5-Minute Lemon Garlic Vinaigrette, which is so simple but is absolutely adored by you guys!

Enter, this creamy sesame dressing. I made this up on a whim when I basically just had cabbage and a few other kinda-bland-on-their-own vegetables in my fridge, and I was completely blown away by how this sesame salad dressing completely transformed them into a salad I was dying to eat!

Spoiler: It’s Addictively Good

Creamy, nutty with a little acidity, a kick of fresh ginger, and just a hint of sweetness to tie it all together. It’s bright, bold, and seriously addictive!

Basically, similar to that ginger dressing from your fave sushi spot, but creamier, dreamier, and totally homemade.

And luckily, I’ve tested this one to perfection to make sure it only takes 5 minutes to whip up with a few simple ingredients you probably already have on hand!

Not to Mention this Dressing is Actually Healthy!

Yup, you heard me right! This sesame ginger salad dressing is totally Registered Dietitian approved, and here’s why:

  • We use tahini as the base for healthy fats to help you stay feeling fuller for longer, alongside calcium!
  • We use fresh ginger for lots of delicious flavor! I’ve also tested this salad dressing using about one teaspoon of dried ginger instead of fresh, and it still turns out delicious!
  • A splash of lime juice to cut through the creaminess!
  • A touch of maple syrup for a little sweetness! I’ve also tested this recipe using regular ol’ white sugar, and it works perfectly!

Let’s Make Some Dressing!

Make sure your tahini is nice and runny! If your tahini is too dry or clumpy, you’ll need to add a splash of water to thin it out.

So Versatile, It Might Just Replace Your Other Dressings

Since it’s on the creamier side, I love pairing this dressing with heartier salads that can hold up to it. No wilting here!

One of my go-to combos is drizzled over my Actually Tasty & Healthy 20-Minute Kale Tofu Salad. The best part is that you can dress the whole thing ahead of time and pop it in the fridge! Kale stays sturdy and delicious, unlike spinach, which tends to get sad and soggy.
