This Vegan BBQ Soy Curl Bowl with Creamy Ranch Dressing takes 20-minutes to make and is a total crowd-pleaser!
This may be one of my favorite recipes I’ve ever shared. I tested it for the first time a week ago and have already made it twice since then. The creamy dill dressing pairs perfectly with the sweet BBQ soy curls and crunchy romaine. Plus, it only takes 20-minutes to make (!!!) if you have the rice prepped ahead of time, so it’s the perfect weeknight dinner recipe!
Components of this Vegan BBQ Soy Curl Bowl
BBQ Soy Curls: These add a great source of protein to the bowl while also tasting absolutely amazing.
Vegan Ranch Dressing: To add creamy dill flavor and healthy fats from the sunflower seeds!
Rice: A great source of carbs for the bowl, but feel free to sub this out with whatever grain you like best!
Romaine & red onion: For crunch and extra nutrients!

You could totally use these BBQ Soy Curls in a wrap, on top of pizza, or in tacos! They’re a great option to prep ahead of a busy week if you need a quick and easy protein option.

I love making a double batch of this Creamy Dill Dressing for salads, to dip veggies in or even eat with pizza.
Storing Leftovers
Refrigerate all leftover components separately in airtight containers. The Vegan Ranch Dressing will last up to 7 days, while the rice and BBQ soy curls will last 3 and 5 days, respectively.
Recipe Notes:
- You’ll notice that the dressing has a slight green color due to blending the dill weed. If you’d prefer it to be a white color, you can stir the dill weed in after blending the rest of the dressing ingredients, but note that it might not taste quite as dill-y.
- I used dried dill weed in this recipe, but feel free to use 2 tbsp of fresh dill instead.
- If you don’t have any rice pre-cooked, white rice will cook faster than brown rice.

Vegan BBQ Soy Curl Bowl with Creamy Ranch Dressing
Equipment
- High speed blender
Ingredients
Creamy Ranch Dressing
- 1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds
- 1/2 cup water plus more as needed, added 1 tbsp at a time
- 1 lemon juiced
- 2 tsp dried dill weed
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp salt
BBQ Soy Curls
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cups soy curls
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp ground pepper
Other Ingredients
- 1 head romaine lettuce chopped
- 1/4 red onion sliced
- 3/4 cup uncooked rice I used brown rice that I cooked ahead of time
Instructions
- Cook rice as per package instructions. In a large bowl cover soy curls with water and let sit for 10 minutes to rehydrate.
- Meanwhile, add all Creamy Ranch Dressing ingredients to a high speed blender and blend until smooth. You may need to add additional water depending on your blender- I recommend doing this 1 tbsp at a time until you reach the desired consistency. Set dressing aside.
- Once soy curls are rehydrated, drain the water. Heat a large pan over medium heat with 1 tbsp olive oil.
- Add the soy curls to the pan with BBQ sauce, garlic powder and ground pepper. Mix to combine and sauté for 5-10 minutes, or until the BBQ sauce has soaked into the soy curls and they've become slightly sticky.
- To serve the bowl, add a scoop of rice, romaine, red onion, soy curls and finish with a drizzle of the Creamy Dill Dressing. Enjoy!
