This vegan Sesame Tofu Sheet Pan Recipe uses just one pan to create the whole meal and comes together in 30-minutes, making it the perfect weeknight recipe!
One pan or pot recipes have become my ultimate favorite recipes, especially during the week. As the weather gets warmer I find myself naturally gravitating towards quick, simple recipes. Cue this super simple Sesame Tofu Sheet Pan Recipe!
This recipe pairs flavors like sesame oil, soy sauce, ginger and garlic to create a delicious sauce. If you weren’t a huge fan of tofu before, this recipe is bound to change your mind! The tofu crisps up in the oven and is then coated with a delicious sauce that’s so savoury and satisfying. I’ve included broccoli and sliced carrots to this sheet pan recipe to add some extra nutrition and delicious crunch!
Main Ingredients in this Sheet Pan Recipe:
Tofu: I’ve used extra-firm tofu in this sheet pan recipe, since the less water tofu has in it, the better it will crisp up. I recommend pressing your tofu with a cloth and some heavy books for about 10-15 minutes before using it. This isn’t a totally necessary step, but will result in crispier tofu. The recipe also calls for tossing the tofu in cornstarch before baking, which helps it to firm and crisp up, too!
Sesame sauce: The base of this sesame sauce is sesame oil, soy sauce, ginger and garlic to create a deliciously savoury coating on the tofu. We toss the tofu in this sauce after baking, and you can even add any leftovers to the veggies!
Broccoli & Carrots: This recipe calls for broccoli and carrots since they roast so well and pair perfectly with sesame tofu, but feel free to use any veggies you have on hand!
If you want to make the recipe even more filling, feel free to cook some rice (I’ve chosen brown rice!) or noodles to pair with the tofu and veggies.
How to Make this Sesame Tofu Sheet Pan Recipe
Step 1: Preheat oven to 450 F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: Press tofu to remove excess water. You can do this by wrapping the tofu in a kitchen towel and firmly pressing down, or by placing heavy books on top for about 10-15 minutes.
Step 3: Toss diced tofu corn starch, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tbsp sesame oil and 1 tsp soy sauce. Toss broccoli florets and sliced carrot in 1 tbsp sesame oil, 1 tsp garlic powder and 1 tsp soy sauce.
Step 4: Place tofu, broccoli and carrots on sheet pan, making sure they’re evenly spaced. Bake for 22-27 minutes, or until tofu is slightly golden brown.
Step 5: Meanwhile, whisk together sesame sauce ingredients.
Step 6: Once tofu, broccoli and carrots are cooked, toss in sesame sauce. Feel free to serve on its own or with brown rice or noodles and enjoy!
